Shri Roji M. John is the Minister for Higher Education in the Government of Kerala and the elected Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing the Angamaly constituency. He is a distinguished public leader with nearly two decades of experience in governance, public policy, and legislative affairs. His leadership journey began in student politics, serving as Chairman of the Sacred Heart College Students' Union, Kochi, and later as a Councillor of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students' Union. He subsequently held several key positions in the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), including Election Commissioner, Vice President, and National President (2014–2016). He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Sacred Heart College, Kochi, a master’s degree in political science from the University of Hyderabad, and a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He currently serves as Secretary of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) and is a Member of the Political Affairs Committee of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
