Taj Cochin International Airport Inaugurated  Continuous innovation ensures survival: Chief Minister

Kerala Chief Minister Mr Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized that constant innovation is essential for individuals and institutions to thrive in a rapidly changing world. He was speaking at the inauguration of Cochin International Airport Limited’s latest venture, Taj Cochin International Airport, a five-star hotel built by CIAL and operated by the IHCL Taj Group. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of adapting to shifting trends in service delivery, especially in the era of pervasive new media. These days, providing the best services is not enough, as new media impacts daily life. People should be able to be convinced of the benefits. He praised CIAL’s professional marketing strategies and ability to communicate its initiatives' benefits effectively. He cited the 0484 Aero Lounge, launched in September, as a testament to meticulous planning and market research. With its focus on the "Art of Affordable Luxury," the lounge has become a resounding success. The newly inaugurated five-star hotel aligns with the evolving needs of modern travellers and showcases how public sector organizations can leverage their resources to drive growth. CIAL is the second airport in India to introduce a hotel under this business model, utilizing its land for strategic ventures. The Chief Minister noted that CIAL's forward-thinking projects, including expanding the international terminal, green hydrogen plant, commercial complex, and golf tourism initiatives, reflect its vision for sustainable development. These projects, slated for completion by the financial year 2025-26, aim to position CIAL as a gateway to the nation by attracting more airlines, boosting regional connectivity, digitizing services, enhancing security systems, and advancing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services. He also stressed the need for active participation from the tourism and hospitality sectors to complement the government’s infrastructure development efforts, viewing this project as a step in that direction.  The event, presided over by Minister P. Rajeeve maintained a formal tone, foregoing festive programs. CIAL Managing Director S. Suhas IAS delivered the welcome address. IHCL Executive Vice President Deepika Rao served as the chief guest. IHCL Senior Vice President Satyajeet Krishnan, CIAL Directors N. V. George and Dr P. Muhammadali, ExecuOve Directors Saji K. George and Jayarajan V, CFO Saji Daniel, and Airport Director G. Manu attended. CIAL General Manager Rajendran T. proposed the vote of thanks.
